Another fun phone call

One night I'm working midnight again, doesn't the best things always happen at night. Anyway about 3 or 4 in the morning I get a phone call and a teenage boy is on the line yelling that his friend is attacking or raping his mom.

Okay I'm thinking fight but then as I question him it turn out that he is only 15 but his friend is 21 and they went to a big rock concert that night and were so late getting home he had the adult friend just stay the night. He had twin beds so they hit the sack. But a little while before he called me he'd gotten up for the bathroom and found the other bed empty.

After his friend didn't come back in a few minutes he got up and went looking for him. Downstairs, he heard strange noises coming from his mother's bedroom and the door was locked. (you know where this is going don't you)

He beat on the door and yelled but couldn't get inside. He got his father's handgun from the closet but strangely it's empty and he cannot find the bullets. btw, his father is an over the road truck driver, gone for long trips.

The boy has run in his underwear to a neighbor's house down the road to get help and the neighbor man insisted he call the police.

Okay I got this all out of him and the location and the phone number for his house, apparently the only extension is in his mother's room. I tell him to stay there and contact my Sergeant. After I fill him in (and he quits laughing) he calls the boy's home and when the answering machine kicks on he loudly says, this is the police and Mrs. ?? if you do not pick up this phone right now there will be officers at your door in under a minute to kick it down. While he's saying this the phone is grapped and the woman starts demanding what is going on?

He told her of the report from her teenage son and asked if she was being raped? Hell no, oh shit! Where is he now, she asked. He told her at the neighbors and asked if she needed an officer to come anyway for her son. She declined the offer.

We laughed the rest of the night thinking of the boy beating and yelling at the door then finding the gun with missing bullets, wonder if that friend will ever get to spend the night again.

I don't know what she told her son but it must of worked because we never got a call when Dad returned from his trip.

Weird story

Okay I was telling a friend this true story about an incident at work several years ago and got to thinking I ought to write that down. So here goes, My friends know I was a police/911 dispatcher for 25 years and am retired now. I was there before 911 and all the special enhancments we have today to locate people. Back then we had to get it from the caller themselves. I also worked midnights for over 10 years and the strangest things usually happened then. The department I worked at covered an 7 county area or a few hours drive to cross the area. I also worked alone most of the time on the overnight shift. Long into I know but to read is to understand.

One night about 2 or 3 am I get a phone call and answer and the man on the other end says he's had an accident. Okay first question: Where are you? answer: I don't know. Okay it goes downhill from here on. What road were you on? I don't know, where where you going to? Nowhere in particular. How badly are you hurt? Not bad I spend the next 10 minutes racking my brain and asking every possible question to find his location. He's at a payphone outside a little country store. He walked from the accident site to it. What road did you use? I don't know. Okay what's the phone number on the payphone? It's missing.

Look at the phone book there and tell me what area it's for? It's missing. What's the name of the store? No sign. This goes on and on. Remember this is before phone tracing was available. Finally I made the guy walk back out to the road and walk till he saw a roadsign and come back and tell me what it said. He did while I waited. Finally he gave me a road number and I figured out where he was at and told him I'd send an officer out right away. I asked him about the damage to his car, would he need it towed? Then he hits me with this, Oh I'm not in a car, I CRASHED A PLANE!

Come to find out, it was his bosses plane that he had without permission along with his bosses wife on board, without permission too.

Can we spell FIRED!

and he was.
